Inspiration

I had to go to Salem last week for a couple of days of training. It's been a while since I've made that trip and there were several people there I know through work and mutual meetings that we attend. In the evening a group of us decided to meet at Olive Garden for dinner (I had to bank a few Weight Watchers points for that one). We had about 30 minutes to wait and so we were all standing around in the lobby area when some more people came that we knew from the training. One of the ladies came up to me and complimented me on my weight loss. She said she didn't recognize me until I spoke and then realized that it was me. WoW, didn't recognize me - I think that's a first. It made me feel good and inspired me to continue on my journey.

Then just yesterday I had a scrapbook friend tell me that she has been reading my blog and I have inspired her to get back on her Weight Watchers plan. Me, inspire someone? Again, my only thought was "WoW".

I can honestly say that sharing this weight loss journey with my family and friends is making it so much easier for me. I have always had the love and support of family and friends; encouragement and reassurance that I have the strength to overcome this weakness in my life. I know this battle would be a 100X harder if it weren't for my circle of supporters. THANKS!

So, drum roll please....... I lost 3 pounds this week........ WoW!

Ode to Blue Camera

The plan was to paint the scrapbook room
Little did we know there would be doom

Documenting the moments with my blue camera, brand new
Renee painting the edges and Stacy rolling on paint too

Ronda delicately painting with her brush and
Beth sharing surgergy stories, none of us in a rush

Melisa turns, bends down to grab a rag
Strangely enough something falls from her pocket, but not a tag

This next part is not for the weak, as you might just faint
My camera took a swim in a gallon of paint

Quickly I grab the camera strap
But it is too late, the camera is chocolate brown, oh crap

I hand the camera to Beth as it is dripping wet
Ronda scurries to get her camera, afterall we don't want the paint to set

A few shots are taken of this chocolate covered mess
Then I take it to the sink, ruined I guess

I began wiping it off as if maybe there will be hope
But I soon realize - NOPE

A Christmas present from my Mom with much need and want
Is now a hunk of metal, with memories that are sure to haunt

What was once a functional scrapbooker's toy
Is now a gummed up mess, giving absolutely no joy

So ladies be careful, hold your cameras close to your heart
I'm going to Wal-Mart to put a new camera in my cart

Weigh-in on Valentine's Day

It's nice to get flowers on Valentine's Day. My Dad sent these three roses. He sends 3 roses each to his three daughters on Valentine's Day. I thought this year's flowers were very pretty and fragrant too.

Also, it's very nice to get a special delivery on Valentine's night. I had a little knock on the door and there was Landon, with a Valentine for me. He said, "Happy Valentine's Day Anut Lis, I've gotta keep movin' cause we are going to Joe and Stacy's next." I kissed him on the top of the head and wished him a Happy Valentine's Day. My card was very cute and I have it displayed on my table at home (sorry no camera so I couldn't take a picture).

So now for the weigh-in.....

I lost a pound this week. I thought it might have been more, but after sitting in a car on Monday, sitting in an all-day training session on Tuesday and then sitting in a training session and then riding in a car on Wednesday I guess I'll be content with one more pound gone.

I'm 5 weeks from having weighed-in every week for 26 weeks (1/2 of a year) and I'm one pound closer to my goal. Wow, time flies by.

Rags to Riches

20 reasons you too should have friends like mine.......

1) They will give up a weekend to help you paint and organize your scrapbook room
2) They will document the moment when you drop your 45 day old camera in the bucket of paint
3) They will boldly paint the ceiling
4) They will sit endlessly and sort eyelets, brads and other miscellaneous embellishments
5) They will bring Mardi Gras beads to make the event more festive
6) They will sort stickers, die cuts and ribbon
7) They will leave the carpet down and resist the temptation of exposing the hardwood floor
8) They will meet for breakfast on Saturday to kick start a very long day of organizing
9) They will assemble scrapbook furniture
10) They will wear silly outfits
11) They will haul boxes of STUFF to the basement
12) They will paint their favorite quote on the wall as a finishing touch to the room
13) They will conveniently have empty boxes in the back of the truck to help with the move
14) They will threaten you to make sure you never have a messy scrapbook room again
15) They will stay late at night to finish painting and put in a full day following
16) They will spend their weekend helping even though they have a long-time friend unexpectedly fly in for the weekend as a surprise
17) They won't complain when they get a bowl of soup and some chips as payment for their hard work (some didn't even get that)
18) They will allow you to have a couple of bags of stuff that can be easily transported, rather than having 100% of everything sorted into 1 location
19) They will laugh with you or at you, just depending on the moment
20) They will still be your friend after spending an entire weekend with a stressed out, unorganzied, somewhat cranky ME!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. You're the BEST!

It's ugly, but it's mine......

I lost .8 pounds this week, which got me past my much needed .2 pounds. I got the WW keychain. I had seen one before and remembered that it isn't the cutest thing, but it's mine and I earned it. I have spent so much time focused on this one little goal that today I almost feel a sense of relief. I can now move towards the goal I set at the start of the year. Twenty-five pounds by Easter (which if you haven't noticed is very early this year - YIKES!) I've lost 6.8 pounds toward this goal, but the weight is coming off a lot harder these days. I love playing the numbers game, so for anyone that was wondering, I have 6 weigh-ins before Easter, I have 18.2 pounds to lose to make my goal and that averages to 3 pounds a week. Well, it's a goal, just keep checking back, as I'll continue to post my progress, good or bad.

Clean Sweep

I think some of us have the spring cleaning bug in the middle of winter. I was looking at Stacy's blog and admiring all of her hard work on the bedroom. Painting, new furniture....how fun. Lindsay's blog shows new furniture too, love those new red chairs!

This weekend I stopped by Renee's house to find her in the middle of a living room remodel. She was up to her eyeballs in fun and I carefully slipped out the door and returned to my own project......

I started cleaning the scrapbook room because next weekend is the BIG project. I am switching the spare bedroom with the scrapbook room. Painting, moving furniture and organizing are all going to be a part of this project. As the weekend approaches, I'm getting more excited. I have recruited reinforcements and for those of you that know the amount of scrapbook stuff I have accumulated throughout the years, know how blessed I am to have friends willing to help. Actually, I will give the credit to the one that planted the seed. Thanks Renee.

Check back next week for the results. I can hardly wait to show off the new rooms!
