August Ends - Bring on Fall

OK, so as far as I'm concerned summer can come to an end. I'm tired of hot, even though I have to say I really didn't begin to complain until this past week. I'm ready for the colors of fall and the brisk air. I know I don't have the same opinion as many of you when it comes to old Mr. Sun, but aren't the sun bunnies ready for a change?

Can't really explain my love for fall. It's always been my favorite season. It's colorful, the air is brisk and the leaves crunch when you walk through them. I can remember taking long walks on my Mom and Dad's place in the fall. The big cottonwood trees would drop huge golden brown leaves. Sometimes I could find places where the leaves were 3 or 4 feet deep. My sister and I would walk along the river and as you looked down the river bank you could see all the colors of fall...red, orange and yellow with a hint of summer green peeking through. It all sounds delightful.

If I were to scrapbook all the pictures I've taken during fall season, I could fill 5 or more albums. Fall inspires me. It makes me want to set new goals and it makes me want to start something new. Kinda weird since fall is suppose to be the beginning of the end of the four seasons....but there's just something about that cool air.

So, all you summer lovers out there......enjoy your remaining days cause I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of fall!!!!!

Buddy gets a new toy for his birthday!

For as long as I've had Buddy (10 yrs and 4 mos and 1 day), he has always been obsessed with removing anything that squeaks from his dog toys. Today, he proudly began surgery on his newest toy from Auntie Gwen. I made her a bet that he would have 4 of the 6 squeakers out by the end of the day. Here's the video of him working on #2. It's fun to watch as he spits the stuffing out and quickly gets back to work on retrieving the squeaker. I lost the bet, in his old age he tired quickly and gave up after number 2. Lazy dog.

Mom and Dad Celebrate 50 Years!!!

Here's the whole family. We are ready for our 4 hour trip on the Charlie Russell Chew Choo (yeap that's right - dinner train

Dad and Mom on the train. It was a great trip. We were served prime rib dinner and on the way back we got robbed!!!

I took this picture as we crossed one of three trestles. Thought it was cool to see our shadow.

Saige, Will and Dakotah the morning before we left Lewistown, MT and headed to Great Falls, MT

This picture was taken at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. We lucked out and got to see a presentation on Lewis' dog "Seaman". These dogs are the same breed. The big one is 2 1/2 years old and the little one just 12 weeks.

Happy Birthday Buddy

Buddy was 11 years old as of yesterday. I made him the hat (which he hated). It's not too fancy, but I was in a hurry.
Caught in the act, eating one of the many doggie treats he got for his birthday (he should have a belly ache)
Here he is resting after his binge on doggie treats.
